Things You Should Do Every Day

1. Drink Plenty Of Water

We know that our bodies are made up mostly of water, and that staying hydrated is a hugely important factor of staying alive and healthy. However, for some reason most of us do not get enough water to drink each day and experience symptoms of dehydration without realizing it. To find out how much water you should be drinking, divide your weight in half and drink at least that many ounces of water every day.

2. Go For a Walk

The benefits of daily physical exercise have been studied widely to show that it's definitely desirable, if not necessary, to get moving every day. This doesn't mean you have to kill yourself at the gym doing things you hate to do. Being active is as simple as taking a twenty minute walk each day, getting some fresh air, and observing the world around you. Some of the benefits of a daily walk include better sleep, easier blood circulation in the body, and becoming more mindful of yourself and the world around you.

3. Take a Shower

Showering daily, wearing perfume or cologne, and using mints for fresh breath are completely optional. However, life is generally more pleasant when we make sure that we do not have a foul smell. Smelling bad can repel others and greatly affect our daily interactions in a negative way. Some ways to reduce body odor include brushing your teeth, wearing deodorant, and showering regularly. Even if you choose not to do these things regularly, it would be wise to make sure you do not emit an awful stench.

4. Check You Tires

Checking your tires on a daily basis can reduce the risk of an accident when driving. This keeps you and those around you on the road safe as well. Ensure that your tires have a sufficient amount of air in them to be driven on safely. This can also apply to a bike, or even just to be aware of your safety from day to day with whatever you may do. If you don't drive or bike, there are still many things to be aware of in your daily life to be sure that you and others remain safe.

5. Strech

Stretching is very beneficial to the body, especially the muscles and joints. It's easy to become stiff and sore from modern lifestyles and many of us do not stretch our bodies enough. While many people experience pain in their bodies, from their necks and backs to legs and arms, most of these problems can be alleviated or eliminated by adding a daily stretching routine to your schedule.

6. Smile

Smiling and laughing have great effects psychologically. These behaviors can ease stress, sadness, and other mental and emotional problems. Even if you feel like there is no reason to smile, forcing yourself to do so can automatically make you feel better. Smile at strangers to make yourself and someone else feel good. If you aren't laughing everyday, put in an effort to find something you think is funny and can at least get a good chuckle from. Read the funnies in the newspaper, watch a comedic sitcom, or read satire that tickles your fancy.

7. Get Sufficient Sleep

Getting enough sleep every day is an important component to a healthy lifestyle. Without enough sleep, body functions can shut down or be hindered and cause our bodies to perform much less than ideally. While the amount of sleep needed for each person does vary, it's recommended to get seven hours minimum each day. Sleeping and dreaming is good for you, and should not be neglected.

8. Learn Something New

You don't have to seriously strain your brain or take difficult classes to learn something every day. Discovering a new word, recipe, place in your city, or musician is a great way to exercise your brain daily. Learning keeps your brain healthy and learning something new every day may help fend off certain neurological problems such as Alzheimer's disease later in life.

9. Say Thanks

There is always something to be grateful for, whether you just won a million dollars or you just woke up this morning. Life itself is a great gift, and each day is only experienced once. Find something to be thankful for every day and you will feel happier about your life in general.

10. Keep an Open Mind

Opportunities for new experiences are all around all of the time. Chances to do things may present themselves, or you may have to seek them out, but either way you should remain open to new ideas and experiences every day. You will learn, grow, and better yourself the more open you are to new things, and you can learn quite a lot from being open to converse with many different types of people. Life is constantly changing and introducing challenges and adventures, so be open and willing to experience these when you get the chance.
